What This Section Does

Displays user-generated content (videos and photos from customers or creators) in an interactive gallery where visitors can click to see product details and purchase directly. This combines social proof with seamless shopping to build trust and increase conversions.

How to Add It

Step 1: Add the Section

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online StoreThemes
  2. Click Customize next to your live theme
  3. Click Add section in the main content area
  4. Choose Shoppable UGC from the list

Step 2: Add Your UGC Content

  1. Click Add UGC item to create your first piece of content
  2. Upload a video (hosted or from YouTube/Vimeo) or use the cover image
  3. Select the product customers can shop from this content
  4. Repeat for each piece of UGC you want to showcase

Content Display

Display Mode: Choose between slider or marquee presentation

  • Slider: Traditional carousel with navigation controls - better for fewer, high-quality pieces
  • Marquee: Continuous scrolling effect - great for lots of content and modern aesthetic

Product Integration

Show Product Details: Controls whether product info appears on each UGC item

  • When to use: Always enable unless you're using this purely for brand awareness
  • Pro tip: Include product images and prices to make shopping as easy as possible

Video Settings

Play Video Inline: Videos play directly in the gallery vs opening in a popup

  • Best practice: Enable for short, engaging videos that showcase products in action
  • Consider: Disable if videos are long or need sound to be effective
