Changing Default Theme Content
The Focus theme ships with predefined wording (labels, messages, buttons) and comes pre‑translated in 20+ languages. You might still want to fine‑tune certain phrases so they better reflect your brand voice.
Open the Default Theme Content Editor
- In your Shopify admin go to Online Store → Themes.
- Find the theme you want to adjust.
- Click the ... (More actions) menu.
- Choose Edit default theme content.
Finding and Updating Text
You will see a searchable list of all strings provided by the theme.
- Use the Filter / search field: type the first few letters of the word or sentence you want to change.
- Modify the text in the input field that appears.
- Your changes are saved automatically.
TIP
Keep wording concise and consistent. If you adjust a phrase like "Add to cart" to something else, ensure similar CTAs are updated for consistency.
Multi-language Stores
Editing the default theme content only affects your store's primary language. If you have additional languages enabled and need to customize those translations, install and use a translation app (Shopify's free Translate & Adapt or another app of your choice). For guidance on translating non-primary languages, refer to that app’s documentation or support team.
