Announcement Bar

What This Section Does

Display eye-catching messages at the very top of your store that customers see on every page. These messages stay visible while customers browse, making them perfect for announcing sales, free shipping offers, or special promotions.

Perfect for:

  • Free shipping thresholds ("Free shipping on orders over $50!")
  • Limited-time sales and promotions
  • New product launches or restocks
  • Holiday shipping deadlines

Key Settings to Configure

Message Display

How messages appear: Choose between rotating through multiple messages or having one message scroll across the screen

  • When to use rotating: When you have 2-3 different announcements (like free shipping + sale + new arrivals)
  • When to use scrolling: For longer messages that need more space
  • Pro tip: Keep messages short and punchy - customers scan quickly

Visibility Options

Close button: Let customers hide the bar if they want

  • Best practice: Always include a close button so the bar doesn't annoy customers
  • Smart setting: Set it to remember when someone closes it, so it doesn't keep reappearing

Coupon Codes

Interactive discount codes: Add [coupon_code] in your message to create a clickable button

  • Example: "Save 15% with code [coupon_code]" becomes "Save 15% with code SAVE15" where "SAVE15" is a button
  • Pro tip: Set codes to auto-apply at checkout so customers don't have to remember to paste them

Pro Tips for Success

Best Practices

  • Keep messages under 10 words when possible
  • Use action words like "Save," "Get," "Shop," or "Hurry"
  • Test different messages to see what drives more sales
  • Update regularly to keep content fresh

Common Mistakes

  • Too many rotating messages (3 maximum)
  • Making the bar too tall - it pushes your actual content down
  • Forgetting to remove expired promotions
  • Using tiny text that's hard to read on mobile
