Key Settings to Configure
Timing and Triggers
When popup appears: Control when visitors see your popup
- Delay timer: Wait 3-7 seconds so visitors can see your site first
- Scroll trigger: Show after someone scrolls 25% down the page (shows they're engaged)
- Exit intent: Appears when someone moves their mouse to leave the page
- Pro tip: Don't be too aggressive - let people browse a bit before showing the popup
Display Rules
Who sees the popup: Target the right visitors
- Guests only: Only show to people who aren't logged in (most effective for email signups)
- Reappear settings: Set how many days before showing again to the same person
- Best practice: Wait at least 7 days before showing the same popup again
Email Signup Integration
Newsletter signup: Connects directly to your Shopify customer list
- Works automatically: No setup needed - emails go straight to your customer database
- Discount codes: Offer a percentage off or free shipping for signing up
- Pro tip: 10-15% off first order is the sweet spot for most stores
Pro Tips for Success
Best Practices
- Keep your offer simple and valuable (like "10% off your first order")
- Use compelling headlines that clearly state the benefit
- Make it easy to close - include a visible X button
- Test different offers to see what works best for your audience
- Include an attractive image that matches your brand
Common Mistakes
- Showing the popup immediately when someone lands on your site
- Making it too hard to close (frustrated visitors rarely buy)
- Asking for too much information - just email is usually enough
- Using scary urgency language that feels pushy
